I’m pleased to announce that JungleJar.com is now under new management. My name is Anders Bergman and I am the new owner of JungleJar. Christopher Hennis, the original creator of JungleJar.com sold the site to me a few weeks ago. Christopher has moved onto other projects and has agreed to contribute article’s once in awhile.

JungleJar is a great site full of great content focusing on web design and development. I have been designing and developing websites for about 8 years. Currently I have career in the Video Game Industry as an User Interface Designer/Developer specializing in Flash and Actionscript. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and inspirations on JungleJar. I also welcome any authors that would like their content posted on JungleJar.

Some new features include:

  • New simplified layout and logo!
  • The RSS feed now displays full content (not just excerpts anymore!).
  • Related Posts at the end of each article!
  • Most popular posts in the sidebar!

Features to be implemented at some later date:

  • Author Biographies attached to every article.
  • Community Link and News posting in the sidebar.
  • Some syndicated content from our favorite feeds.
  • Full category listing in the footer
  • Contact form for link exchanges and website promotion
  • Many more great articles!

Over the next few weeks there will be some minor tweaks to enhance the functionality and the look and feel of this site. I hope you enjoy it and continue to check up out our high quality content.

Please comment and let me know if you like/dislike the new layout and what sort of article’s you are most interested in reading as this site goes forward. Your feedback is valuable and I’ve love to hear your thoughts Have a great day and enjoy!

Anders Bergman

Yes, I agree with Jamaica Bob — it is easier to navigate at first glance. My approach with the old design was to display nearly every avenue one could go about to find what they wanted on the site — displaying nearly 90 or so categories, thousands of tags, etc. The content on JungleJar I believe reflects the true broad approach very few websites these days take on as it can be incredibly challenging. Especially when you consider SEO and having to put your website in a nutshell.

Anyway, as Anders has truly taken JungleJar and made it his own, and truly made it better, I couldn’t be happier. I honestly didn’t want to sell the website, and for 4 months I did everything I could to avoid doing so. However, without getting too personal on a website that is no longer mine, I figured that if I were going to sell it, I was going to sell it to someone who would continue in the tradition of quality content over quantities of content, who wouldn’t put a thousand ad spaces all over the website, and someone who actually cared to build upon a website instead of exploiting it.

So, as all of the old school JungleJar readers adjust themselves to Anders’ own style of writing and piecing together that with the new aesthetic backdrops, I’m sure you’ll find that while JungleJar is a bit different now — it is still JungleJar, and it is still in its aging what it was in its birth: A quality website with original content, articles with not just technicalities but with their own personalities, and don’t forget about those free Wordpress Templates created by the authors ;)
