Today, November the 1st, Wordpress.org has launched Wordpress Showcase, a “display of some of the best and brightest WordPress users, who are using it to do a whole lot more than blog.

In theory, this is pretty cool. There’s a rating system that is open to the public, and not just some proprietary membership perk. The flavors (Wordpress.org, Wordpress.com, Wordpress MU, and Wordpress.com VIP) are index search-able, and they accept your suggestions on which websites to feature.

And out of ALL of the millions of Wordpress users, designers, and application developers the Wordpress team had at their disposal, what is one of the first featured Websites? Greg Brady’s website. Yes, the guy from The Brady Bunch. However, before I could even finish writing this post, that specific section was changed to the NFL.com Blog. I mean, ..what? I guess the only thing I can really say at this point is please, everyone, go put the “Submit A Site” feature to the test. Now. Go.
